Brief-description: Catholic Health Sponsors Free* Dinner Program on Gynecologic Cancers and Family Risk

Price text: *Catholic Health invites area residents to attend up to three free dinner programs per calendar year. After that, admission for each program is $20 and includes a three-course dinner.

About: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 80,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with gynecologic cancer each year. Whether it’s ovarian, cervical, uterine, or other cancer of the female reproductive system, factors such as family history, smoking, and age can increase a woman’s risk. Because prevention and early detection are key, it’s important for women to know the risk factors and warning signs of gynecologic cancer and listen to their bodies. Catholic Health is sponsoring a free* community dinner program entitled “Genetic Testing and Gynecologic Cancer: Are You at Risk?” on November 15, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Millennium Hotel, 2040 Walden Avenue, Buffalo. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. Join women’s health experts, Stacey Akers, MD, and Karen Gutierrez, NP, as they provide an in-depth look at the various gynecologic cancers and discuss the link between endometriosis and ovarian cancer. They’ll present the latest information on prevention, detection, and treatment options, and whether genetic testing is right for you. “Genetic Testing and Gynecologic Cancer: Are You at Risk?” is free* and open to the public. A complimentary dinner will be served. Reservations are required by calling Catholic Health’s HealthConnection at 447-6205. *Catholic Health invites area residents to attend up to three free dinner programs per calendar year. After that, admission for each program is $20 and includes a three-course dinner.
