About: Artist Jean Stumpf has been painting as long as she can remember. Like many artists, she paints because it is a part of who she is. Her subject matter is usually woodland creatures such as fox, rabbits and bears, her style much like that of Beatrix Potter, telling a story to delight the viewer. These stories have a modern twist with something most everyone can identify. Art Dialogue Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of works by this very talented artist. The oil paintings on view depict animals in everyday life situations; squirrels or bunnies playing hockey, a bear chasing a group of fox out of the woods, various animals having lunch around a table set with china, a pig playing golf with a hedgehog, all with a sense of whimsy. The exhibit “Jean Stumpf – Telling Stories on Canvas” will be on view at Art Dialogue Gallery, 5 Linwood Avenue, Buffalo from September 15 through November 10, 2017. Jean Stumpf studied commercial art at RIT. Over the years, her work has been included in various exhibits all over Western New York, winning awards for her paintings. Her commissioned works are in numerous local collections. For further information about this exhibition contact gallery director Donald J. Siuta at 716-885-2251. Thank you.
