Digital photography exhibit that delves into the human ability to surpass the constrictive confines of dysphoria through the use of surrealistic tones and also the uncanny.
ARTIST BIO :
Sadie Petito is a young artist currently attending the University at Buffalo, and is planning to get her bachelor's degree in fine arts with a focus in photography in the spring of 2017. Her work has been previously exhibited in The Albright-Knox Art Gallery, The Larkin Art Gallery, as well as The Castellani Art Museum. Her work deals with exploring the struggles that life presents through the use of surrealism and hyperrealism by investigating the uncanny, duality, emotion, and human action. Her past works have been based on an array of social and environmental issues that she hopes will allow the viewers to question what is real and what isn’t in a world where digital photography enables the artist to create alternate environments, people, and situations.
